Aubrey began her award winning career in photography managing her high school darkroom in the 80's. She was fortunate to meet a National Geographic photographer as a teenager who took her under wing, providing guidance and insights. She continued working in the darkroom throughout her college years continuing to develop her composition and technical darkroom skills as well as taking photography courses.
Her love of international travel started 26 years ago in middle school with a trip to England. Since then, she has traveled extensively to 14 countries on 5 continents. Some of her favorite international experiences included photographing the mountain gorillas in Uganda , living and diving on Palau, living and working with the Carib Indians in Dominica, diving the coast of Sulawesi, living on the island of Kalymnos in Greece, capturing the people and rural life in Ukraine and photographing New Zealand top to bottom. She has also traveled to, studied or worked in Pohnpei, Kosrae, England, France, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand and Ukraine.
In 2008, after several years in the corporate marketing world, working for Fortune 500 companies including Nike and Starbucks, she followed her passion and began her career as a professional photographer.
An avid hiker, PADI divemaster, adventure traveler and naturalist, she combines her passion for design, creating a sense of place and a love of nature to each of her images. She has a special interest in tropical island ecosystems and the microclimates they create as well as the fragility of the environment. Her images are currently featured in the Te Papa Museum of New Zealand and published in Global Traveler USA magazine, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Centerpiece magazine, Living Maui Magazine, Kauai Traveler Magazine, the Maui News and Maui No Ka Oi Magazine. Her work can be found at a dozen boutiques and galleries on Maui. She and her husband live on the slopes of Haleakala volcano on Maui. A dream job would be working for National Geographic. Aubrey is available for worldwide coverage.
