I love what I do! I have the wonderful opportunity to capture people, places and things at their best every day I go to work. I get invited to have the unique opportunity to be part of milestones in people’s lives like weddings, pregnancy, newborns babies and time with family. I consider it an honor when someone likes my work and asks me to be part of an important day in their lives. I get to do what I love, people look their best and we all have fun. What’s better than that? Photography is like music to me-different notes, instruments and elements all come together at the right time to create amazing works of art. My job as a photographer is about passion meeting vision and having great clients as my subjects!
My love of photography began in the 80’s managing my high school darkroom. During that time, I was fortunate to meet a National Geographic photographer who took me under his wing, providing guidance and insights. Throughout my college years I continued to work in the darkroom, developing my composition and technical darkroom skills as well as taking photography courses.
My love of international travel started 27 years ago in middle school with a trip to England. Since then, I have lived, worked, studied and traveled to 14 countries on 5 continents. Some of my favorite travel experiences included photographing the mountain gorillas in Uganda , living and diving on Palau, living and working with the Carib Indians in Dominica, diving the coast of Sulawesi, living on the island of Kalymnos in Greece, capturing the people and rural life in Ukraine and photographing majestic New Zealand. I have also enjoyed my work in Pohnpei, Kosrae, England, France, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand and Ukraine.
In 2008, after several years in the corporate marketing world working for Fortune 500 companies including Nike and Starbucks, I pursued my passion and began my career as a professional photographer.
As a concert photographer for the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, I have had the honor to capture musical icons including Jimmy Buffet, Sheryl Crow, Aerosmith, John Legend, Journey and the Steve Miller Band. I try to combine my passion for design, emotion, movement, and a sense of place to each of my images.
My images are featured in the Te Papa Museum of New Zealand, Faces of Hawaii 2009 book and published in Global Traveler USA magazine, Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s magazines, Living Maui Magazine, the Maui News, Kauai Traveler magazine and Maui No Ka Oi magazine.
My husband and I currently enjoy island life living on the slopes of Haleakala volcano on Maui.
